This work is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity issued by Schoeni Art Gallery,Hong KongRen Rong graduated from Nanjing University of the Arts,he then entered Düsseldorf Arts Academy,Germany in 1989 under famous professor Fritz Schewegler,then started teaching in Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg(Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg)after graduation.The inspiration of his sculpture is based on traditional Chinese Paper-cutting.Based on the image of paper-cutting,Ren Rong make prints and wooden and metal sculptures.The various totem and cultural symbols are his unique features,and presented various of visions on different materials.His creatures contain both eastern and western elements,brings him attention all over the world.In 1994,he got awarded the Weilburger Award for Visual Arts.He then started to host solo exhibitions in all kinds of important art institution such as Hong Kong Hanart TZ Gallery,Taipei Eslite Gallery,Hong Kong Arts Center,and various city museums in Germany.Aside from identities of artist and lecturer,Ren Rong is also a curator and modern art advocator in both Germany and China.
Sculptures of Ren Rong are inspired by different elements,it also shows his open-minded toward the changes of the world.The experience of living in both eastern and western societies provides solid foundation for his art Sensitive Area I,he craved three lines of stars—which represents heathenism in western world.An abstract headstand person opens his limbs freely without any limit.The headstand man is Ren Rong self,that indicates the desire of the artist to create arts freely without any boundaries,as his truly wishes to embrace the fortune and chanceful life.
